ALAIN GUY's understanding of Art
Art for Alain is a healing process.
Alain’s work in painting and sculpturing gives him extreme joy, relaxation, through what he calls instinctive endeavour. This is similar to that of a child’s excitement when presented with art material and the wild joy of using them . The difference is in his developed expertise in using his chosen materials and his considered application which provides him with an ability to direct, up to a point, what he does.People and living organisms are his interest. He would say that round and curved lines vibrate more harmoniously with his personality. With a more analytical view point, he says that the meaning of Art for himself is a combination of experiences and emotions
The short word 'ART', of three letters, is seen as an immensity, that captures all that there is and all that one feels at the moment of creativity. Art is being imbued with the feeling of life within ones body to exhale it instinctively, using metamorphism to then externalise it creating a new entity
For myself, he says, clay and paint provide me with, what I call, living substance.
